Overview

Mountain View Athletic Association (MVAA) Cheerleading is non-profit, volunteer lead organization offering recreational (sideline/football) cheerleading to youth in 1st-8th grades. We are a member organization of MVAA, Gwinnett Football League (GFL) and operate in partnership with Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation. While we primarily serve the Mountain View school cluster, we are open to all surrounding areas. 

  • Annual Registration begins mid-March and ends in May
  • Pre-Season training begins mid-July with mandatory camps & clinics
  • Season begins when school starts and officially ends mid-November
  • Football games are played each Saturday at Gwinnett County parks
  • Participate in GFL's Kim Massengill Cheer Off in October
  • Our home is Rabbit Hill Park in Dacula, GA

2023 Dates

IMPORTANT SEASON DATES

Our season begins with a Mandatory Parent/Team Meeting on Sunday, July 16 at 4 pm. Our MVHS High School Cheer Camp is scheduled for July 24-28. Cheer Stunt Clinic is scheduled for 7/31 and 8/1 at Revolution Athletics. The week of July 17th will consist of pre-season practice by teams. Team Choreography (for Cheer Off) is being scheduled for dates from 8/2-8/25.

Season game schedules are set by GFL and is a 9 week period beginning August 19th, followed by Playoffs/Semi-Finals and Championship Football Games. Most teams get an off week though expectations are that all cheerleaders will cheer all games, including Labor Day weekend and GCPS Fall Break if scheduled.

GFL Registration & Documents

Once you register for MVAA Cheerleading, you must also register with GFL to be certified to cheer. To be fully registered and allowed to participate in GFL Cheerleading, the following must be completed:

  • MVAA Online Registration 
  • Register with GFL through National Sports ID.

In 2022, GFL moved to an online certification process with National Sports ID. Forms and documents previously turned into each association are required to be uploaded before any cheerleader may participate.

  • 2023 GFL Physical Form - must use this form (PDF below - please keep a copy to turn in to MVAA Cheer also)
  • Each child's Birth Certificate
  • Proof of school grade 

After completing online registration with MVAA Cheer on this site, visit National Sports ID (https://www.nationalsportsid.com/league/35700/gwinnett-football-and-cheer-league) to complete your 2023 Cheerleading registration. Below is a pdf with basic instructions for how to complete this process and upload your documentation for each cheerleader. Please note there is a $10 fee paid to National Sports ID (NSID) for each participant registered. Documentation must be uploaded no later than 7/17 to allow your child to participate in any physical activity, including camps and clinics, for the season.
